Summary:
Ethical care requires an understanding of our client’s culture, leading to our making necessary changes in our care to meet our client’s needs. This presentation will introduce the DSM-5 Cultural Formulation Interview, which is designed to aid clinicians with a series of questionnaires to inform diagnosis and treatment planning. As we better understand the impact of culture on gambling behavior, we then provide care that meets a high standard of ethical care.
Learning Objectives:
- Participants will learn the definitions and rationale for focusing on ethics in practice for gambling.
- Participants will know at least 2 elements if the DSM-5 Cultural Formulation Interview
- Participants will review the importance of understanding the culture of gambling.
