Summary:
With the legalization of sports betting in Maryland and increased access through mobile platforms, college students are at a greater risk of problem gambling. This training is specifically designed for Maryland colleges and universities, targeting administration, counseling centers, health centers, and other departments to encourage the implementation of problem gambling prevention strategies for students on campus. This training will provide an introduction to underage and problem gambling, an overview of gambling expansion in Maryland, an overview of the problem gambling prevention grant program, screening tools, best practices in underage and problem gambling prevention strategies, and resources for help.
