Summary:
Shame and guilt play an influencing role in our behavior. Oftentimes clinicians and clients do not know or understand the difference between the two emotions. Breaking down the difference will hopefully help both clinician and client identify signs, use techniques and reduce the impact of shame and guilt.
Learning Objectives:

Participants should be able to:

  • To learn the definitions of shame and guilt.
  • Increase awareness and understanding of how shame and guilt impacts the problem gambler and their environment.
  • Implement clinical techniques to address client’s thoughts, feelings and behaviors that underlie shame and guilt.
Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are provided for attendance on live webinar presentations; no CEUs are awarded for recording views.
