Summary:
The 2025 legislative session of the Maryland General Assembly begins on January 8th. This webinar will discuss the legislative process and how to stay on top of the fast-moving legislative session. It will provide an overview of the Maryland legislative process, identify key areas where public health advocates can make their voices heard, and share information about legislative tracking, legislative update calls, and where to find important information on the Maryland General Assembly website. This webinar will also identify several key gambling policy areas that have received attention in recent sessions and discuss the issues that the Center will be watching for this year.
Learning Objectives:
After participating in this webinar, participants should be able to:
- Understand the basic procedures and calendar of the Maryland legislative session
- Track bills using the MGA website and the LRC’s resources; and
- Understand the cannabis policy areas likely to receive attention this legislative session and the committees to watch for cannabis bills.
